Edward L. Szymanski, Sr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Brandywine Senior Suites in Norristown. He was 87. Mr. Szymanski was a former resident of Bridgeport, PA. He retired as a factory worker for the former B.F. Goodrich Tire Co., Oaks, PA, after 33 years. He also worked at the former Lee Worster Mills & Hosey Energetic Mills, both in Bridgeport, PA. Edward was a member of St. Augustine R.C. Church in Bridgeport. Mr. Szymanski was a US Army veteran of World War II serving as a Corporal from 1943 to 1946. He received a Good Conduct Medal, American Campaign Medal, European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with 3 bronze stars and a World War II Victory Medal. Born in Burlington, NJ on June 12, 1923, he was a son of the late Stanley and Catherine (Pinkos) Szymanski. He was the husband of the late Teresa (Carfagno) Szymanski, who died in 2001. He was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Szymanski; and two sisters, Eleanor Rahmer and Helen Bearoff
