Mrs. Graves was born August 4, 1939 in Gallatin to the late George Wesley Smith and Myrtle Bohanon Smith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by grandson, Robert Gregory; daughter, Sherry Carter; brother, Tommy Smith; and sisters, Dorothy Alexander, Lula May Anderson, and Charlene Lecker. She is survived by husband of 63 years, Thomas Graves, Jr. of Castalian Springs; children, Donna Clark (Clay) of Castalian Springs and Tim Graves (Tammy) of Castalian Springs; sister, Peggy Burton (Johnny) of Nashville; 9 grandchildren, Amy Gregory, Ed Carter, Jr, Glen Gregory, Sam Clark (Brooke), Brandon Clark (Christina), Heather Biggs (J.L.), Jacob Graves, Ella Graves, and Kortnie Graves; 14 great grandchildren; and 14 great-great grandchildren. Mrs. Graves retired from Gary Manufacturing "The Shirt Factory" after many years of service. She loved all her family and enjoyed being at all her grandchildren's sporting events. You could always hear her 'rooting on' her grands on the sidelines. Mrs. Graves enjoyed collecting dolls and lamps. She was an avid quilter and loved working in her flower garden.
