Michael Charles Widener, 65, of Eatonton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 20, 2021.

He was a native of Augusta, Georgia and Chattanooga.

He is and always will be a Marine.

He retired from Custom Curb after 29 years.

He spent the last of his years fishing on Lake Oconee with his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Sam Widener and Myrtle Rhodes; brother, Danny Widener; sisters, Jodie Hawshaw and Jean Gann.

He leaves behind the love of his life and best friend, Teresa Weeks and his faithful dog, Apollo; sons, Bryan Burns (Jennifer), Soddy-Daisy, Jason Wallace (Patti), Rossville, Chris Widener (Redonda), Hixson, Casey Wallace (Dawn), Venice Beach, FL and Michael Z. Garlock, South Carolina; grandchildren, Courtney, Zack, Tyler, Emma, Arron, Jacob, Memphis, Connor, Camron, Katilyn and Cooper; great grandchildren, Rilee, Kynleigh, Gunner, Myleigh and T.J. and a host of friends and family.

Services will be on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 24, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

We would like to thank Penny Dobbs for the love and caring support that she always gave him and Teressa from the very beginning and also thank Mark and Renee Griffin for all the hard work they did putting his Dress Blues together. He finally found the best fishing spot. He loves you all and God bless.
