She was a graduate of the St. Francis School of Nursing in Evanston in 1956. Mrs. Kwedar has been a resident of Springfield since 1964. She was very active in Girl Scouts, PTA and the Care Center of Springfield in her earlier years. She was president of the Sangamon County Medical Auxiliary in 1981.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, Saint John's Hospital Samaritans, Questers, a King's Daughters Circle, and the Island Bay Yacht Club.
Survivors: husband, Dr. Edward Kwedar; 3 daughters, Betsy (husband Edwin) Roland of Chatham, NJ, Susie (husband, Scott) Homa of Morton, IL, Dr. Kathy (husband Dr. Mason)Copeland of New Albany, IN; son, Dr. John (wife Sharon) Kwedar of Springfield; 8 granddaughters and 8 grandsons; sister, Maryann (husband Dr. Leo) Cummins of Laguna Beach, CA.
Funeral Mass: Blessed Sacrament Church, Rev. Msgr. Kevin Vann, celebrant. Burial: Calvary Cemetery.
