John was born to parents Marvin and Maralyn (b. 1925, d. 2000) Haglund. John had two siblings Dianne (Butterfield) Hagland and David A. Hagland (b. 1955, d. 1992).
John graduated from Washington State University with a degree in civil engineering. His first civil engineering job was in Saudi Arabia. After returning to the United States, John pursued his main interest or passion which was computers. In 1983 John became a programmer at Ampex Corporation in Redwood City, California. John was an extremely intelligent and friendly person. In 1997 John bought a home in Horse Creek in extreme Northern California, along the Klamath River and retired from Ampex Corporation. John lived alone; he enjoyed hiking the rural roads and trails in Horse Creek with his beloved companion "Lepshun" a female German Sheppard. John traveled throughout the Western States in his motor home. John's hobbies included computers, hiking, bicycling and playing poker on-line.
John died at home unexpectedly of an undetected genetic heart condition. He was not found until several days later by my family. John will be missed by his friends and family.
