Rome, July 9-Mrs. Oliver D. MacDaniels, aged 59 years, died at her home, No.609 North Madison St. at 9:30 o'clock this morning. She suffered a stroke of paralysis about a year ago, and although able to be up and about the house, never fully recovered. She suffered another stroke on Saturday last, and since had been confined to her bed, and gradually failed till death came. She was born in Lee Feb. 18, 1850. Her maiden name was Marceline Sexton and she was united in marriage to Mr. MacDaniels in January 1875, coming to Rome soon after their marriage, where they have since resided. Mrs. MacDaniels was a member of the Universalist church, and the Queen Esther Rebecca lodge, no. 71 I.O.O.F. Mrs. MacDaniels was a devoted wife, a kind and loving mother, and a woman with many estimable qualities endeared her to all who knew her, and her sudden demise will bea shock to her many friends. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters,Mrs. Charles H. Rudd and Miss Reba MacDaniels, both of Rome, also thee sisters, Mrs. E. S. Cooper of Rome, Mrs. J. C. Kinne of Vienna, and rs. William Petrie of Pulaski, one brother, Asaph Sexton of Alexandria, MN, and one grandchild. The date of the funeral will be announced later. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved family.
