Dorothy B. Carpenter, 91, of Rockford, died on February 19, 2021. Born April 23, 1929, in Rockford, IL, the daughter of Thomas and Laura (Morgon) Guffey. Attended Rockford East High School. On December 14, 1946 she married Alfred Carpenter, he preceded her in death in 1992. Dorothy was an active member at Brooke Road United Methodist Church, where she taught pre-school for 26 years and was a member of Church Women United, where she made many cherished friends. Dorothy is survived by her children, Connie Harker of Rockford, IL, Carol (Jack) Irvin of Rockford, IL, Carli (Carl) Jensen of Manitowoc, WI.; grandchildren, Nicki (Corey) Church, Brian (Eve) Harker, Matthew (Jenner) Irvin, Nathan Irvin, Steven (Kerin) Jensen, Paul Jensen, Christine (Mike) Huberty; as well as 13 brothers and sisters and numerous great-grandchildren.
