Sister Angela Dewan Jones was born March 12, 1982 to Larry and Debra Jones. Angela was educated in Tampa. She graduated from Howard W. Blake in 2000 as Class Valedictorian. She furthered her education starting at the University of Tampa then the University of South Florida where she earned a Bachelor's Degree. She received her first Master's Degree from St. Leo then earned her second Master's Degree from Muma College of Business at the University of South Florida. She was a dedicated employee starting her career at K Force, followed by Raymond James and then Citibank where she became a Senior Analyst.
Angela was very well traveled, often looking forward to trips with her mother and family. She was a great baker and would bless her family and friends with recipes from her grandmother Mattie. She was known for her infectious smile and kind heart. A beautiful daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin and friend, she valued education and her family. She was dedicated to giving to those in need through financial contributions and her personal time.
Angela was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jasper Earl and Mattie Mills of Tampa and Cleveland Jones of Orlando, uncle, Jimmy Mills. Her mother, Debra Jones passed on February 10th , 2021.
She leaves to cherish memories of her with her father, Larry Jones; brother, Lawrence Jones; grandmother, Carrie Jones; special aunts, Angela Diane Mills (godmother) and Carolyn Loud (husband, Reginald); aunt, Mary Jones (husband, Donald) and Linda Jones; uncles, Alonzo Jones (wife, Janet), Ronald Jones, Willie Grimsley and Kenny Mills (wife, Lori); godparents, Superintendent J.D. Singletary (Mother Josephine Singletary); godsons, Craig Stater Sr. and Charles Locket Sr.; special loved ones, Kwame Jones, Sherene Davis, Chaquita Slater, Solitaire and Diedra; and a host of cousins, other family members and friends.
There will be a viewing on Friday February 19th , 2021 from 3:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 3000 N. 29 th Street Tampa, Florida. Due to the current CDC restrictions, we are asking that you use the visitation as an opportunity to pay your final respect. For your convenience and
safety, we have extended our visitation hours.
