Lillie Fiscus Michaelson, was born in Audubon county, Iowa to Cane and Hester Ann Fiscus. She was born in the month of November in 1883. She died at her home in Harlan August 1, 1953, at the age of 69 years, 8 month and 20 days.
When she was still a small child, her mother died and her sister, Ida, who was the oldest in the family helped rear the younger brother and sisters.
The family went to Oklahoma in a covered wagon where the father had a homestead. It was in Oklahoma that Lillie was baptized in the Christian faith.
She returned to Iowa and came to Shelby county and on August 18, 1905, she married James Michaelson. The couple moved to the Michaelson farm east of Redline where they resided 38 years. They moved to Harlan in 1944.
Mrs Michaelson became ill last winter and her health continued to fail until death relieved her of her suffering.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs Evelyn Petersen and one granddaughter, Donna Kay Petersen. A son, Clarence Allan, died in 1919 at the age of ten.
Alson surviving are a sister, Ida and one brother, Horace, of Bumble Bee, Arizona. Three brothers, Harvey, Charles and Nelson and two sisters, Hattie and Annie, preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, August 4, at the Redline church with Brother A.R. Kepple of Kansas City in charge. Burial was in the Redline cemetery.
