Pioneer resident Jim Ellison died at his home after a long illness. He moved to what later became Pittsburg County soon after he was born. He was a retired rancher and miner. He was also a member of the Baptist Church. His wife, Myrtle Helterbrand Ellison preceded him in death in 1938. They were married in 1902 in Atoka, Oklahoma. Survivors are two daughters, Opal Lee Ellison Wood and Georgia Marie Ellison Ryan, both of Pittsburg; a brother, N. E. Ellison, also of Pittsburg; a sister, Eyther Eythel Orr, Crowder, Okla.; eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
