Melvin Lee Pearce, 69, passed away at his house on April 28, 2018. He was born in Winston-Salem to Myra Gardner Pearce and Bronnie Clifton Pearce. He graduated from Reynolds High School and went on to graduate from Elon College. Melvin enjoyed tennis, basketball, and running, and he played tennis for Elon College. He also served in the Naval Reserves during Vietnam. Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Jean Pearce Crossingham. He is survived by his brother, Bronnie Clifton Pearce, Jr.; two sons, Andrew Scott Pearce of Danville, VA and Philip Alan Pearce and wife Rebecca of Wilmington, NC; two grandchildren, Logan Hunt and Graham Michael; and girlfriend, JoAnn Kelly.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 4th at Salem Funeral Home on Main Street from 7:00-9:00 p.m. The memorial service will be on Saturday, May 5th at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church from 11:00-12:00 p.m., followed by a reception at the church.
