David Leonard "Bushwacker" Rodgers, 59, died Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Doctors Hospital of Augusta.
Born in Saluda County and a son of Lela Mae Turner Crenshaw and the late Doc Rodgers, he was the husband of Brenda Kay Abercrombie Rodgers. Mr. Rodgers served in the South Carolina National Guard, 122nd Engineer Company in Saluda. He was owner and operator of Big Creek Trucking and was a member of Emanuel Church.
Surviving are his wife, Brenda Kay Abercrombie Rodgers, two sons, Daniel Rodgers of Saluda and Jarrett Lee Lancaster of Woodruff, a daughter, Kayla Dawn Harris (Jake) of Washington, DC, two step-sons, Jonathan Abercrombie and Josh Abercrombie both of Greenwood, two step-daughters, Jennifer Bennett of W. Virginia and Stephanie Babb of Gray Court, a brother, James Crenshaw of Saluda, a sister, Tammy Kelly of Saluda, ten grandchildren and special caregivers, Taylor Comer and Victoria Berry.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m., Sunday, February 21, 2021 at the Bushwacker Family Cemetery with Rev. Burton Campbell officiating.
