S1/c Alejandro Neira, Jr., was born on August 18, 1922, in Texas, son of Mrs. Josefa Neira of 2902 San Bernardo Avenue, Laredo, Texas. He received his education in Laredo, and entered the service on January 8, 1944, at Chicago, Illinois, assigned to the U.S. Navy Air Service; trained at Great Lakes, Illinois. S. 1/c Neira was awarded these decorations: American Theater and Victory Ribbons, and was honorably discharged on the 5th day of February, 1946.

Alejandro J. Neira Jr., age 77, beloved husband, father and grandfather, was called home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 15, 2000. Mr. Neira was born in Lorado, TX to the late Alejandro Sr. and Josefa Nieira; was a resident of Albuquerque, formerly of California. He was preceded in death by a son, George Neira. He is survived by his loving wife, Antonia Garcia Neira of the family home; four sons, Alejandro Neira III and wife, Darlene of Spain, John Antonio Neira and wife, Susan of Burmingham, AL, Gerald Neira and wife, Julie of San Leandro, CA, and Jose Angel Neira of Oakland, CA; five daughters, Mouzelle Neira of Pittsburg, CA, Rosalinda Plasencia and husband, Ismael of Oakland, CA, Margartia Chabre and husband, Jose of San Leandro, CA, Virginia Ramirez and husband, Michael of San Jose, CA, and Antonia Neira of Oakland, CA; 21 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and daughter-in-law, Joellen Neira of Richmond, CA. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. Services and interment will be conducted at the C.P. Bannon Mortuary in Oakland, CA. Local arrangements are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW, 243-5222.
