John Flock was born Feb. 22, 1837 in Indiana to parents Philip Peter Flock and Hannah Kintner. He married 1st - Mary Byerly, Jan. 13, 1859, Harrison County, Indiana and had the following children - Rosane, George W., Sarah, Julia S., Hiram, Ella , Liman (Lyman), Ira Edward, Levi ; 2nd - Mary West Apr 16, 1891, Nemaha, Ne. (marriage license). John Flock died near Wamego, Kansas.

Co. C of the 66th Indiana Infantry.

His son, Lyman Wesley lived near Wamego, Kansas as well in 1901 (note Lyman's memorial page info).

In August of 1902, he was very ill, and his son and daughter from Nebraska visited him:
