On the morning of February 11, 2021 heaven gained another angel. Craig Thomas Wilson Jr. departed this life in a tragic car accident.
Craig Jr. was born on April 8, 1985 in Cheverly, Maryland to Craig Wilson Sr. and Donna Silver.
Craig Jr. was a resident of Hyattsville, Maryland, but was most recently living in Malabar, Florida where he was working at his father’s company, Palm Bay Concrete.
Craig took great pride in his career as a truck driver, and was also a very proud graduate of Eleanor Roosevelt High School in Greenbelt, Maryland.
In his spare time, he enjoyed working on cars, playing pool, listening to good music, and watching D.C. sports – especially his beloved Redskins.
He will be remembered for his kindness, love of life, and heart of gold. He was a bright light to all who knew him. His loyalty and his devotion to his fiancé, friends, and family was second to none. Craig was incredibly compassionate, and without hesitation would do absolutely anything for anyone that he loved.
At times Craig could seem a bit quiet and reserved, but it never took long for his larger-than-life personality to come out. He had a great sense of humor, contagious laugh, and was always down for anything. Craig loved to have a good time, and it was always a good time when you were with him.
Craig had recently proposed to his love, Candyce Naomi Herd, and they were engaged on December 25, 2020. He was incredibly excited and extremely proud to be starting their life together. He looked forward to becoming a devoted husband, and dedicated step-father to Nilah Lavon Herd, as he loved them both dearly.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents Milo Sr. and Doris Wilson, grandmother Elizabeth Wilson, and grandfather Erle Roberts.
Craig Jr. is survived by his father Craig Wilson Sr. and step-mother Marsha; mother Donna Silver and step-father Jeff; grandmother Mary Roberts; and brothers Christopher Wilson, Jacob Silver and Selena, and Jeremy Silver; sisters Hannah Dorough and Kevin, and Jessica Silver. He is also survived by fiancé Candyce Naomi Herd and her daughter Nilah Lavon Herd, two nieces, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family will receive friends for Craig’s Visitation on Saturday, February 20, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Brinsfield Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will follow immediately at Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722.
