DONALD D. RADER 1927 – 1984 US Army, WWII, Pacific Theater

MANKATO — Services for Donald D. Rader, 57, of 900 Hope St., Mankato, who died Saturday, Oct. 20, 1984, at his home, will be at 1:30 pm Tuesday at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Mankato, with the Rev Victor M Roth officiating. Burial will be in Decoria Cemetery. Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. today at Johnson-Boman Mortuary, Mankato, and one hour before services at the church. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
Rader born Jan. 20, 1927, in Medo Township, Blue Earth County, to Walter and Ethel (DeRemer) Rader He married Delores Bleuer. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Pacific Theater. He worked as a welder and laborer for Olson Elevator Co. and later for Rodemeyer Construction Co. and traveled across the country building grain elevators. He returned to Mankato about 10 years ago from Chicago, Ill. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Eagles. He was a former member of the Moose Lodge.
Mr. Rader's survivors include his wife, Delores; his mother, Ethel of Mapleton; four sons, Ronald of Péquot Lake, Richard of Northfield, Duane of North Mankato, and Dennis of Mankato, a daughter, Sandra [Mrs. Larry] Kimmerling of Mt. Vernon, IL; two sisters, Loretta Ward of Mapleton, and Carol [Mrs. Robert] Annis of Mapleton; a brother Allen of Mankato; nine grand children and many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Walter.
