Dora Bigelow, late of St. Charles Mesa, passed away Dec. 7, 1978, in a Canon City Nursing Home. She was the mother of Mrs. Dorothy Larsen of Denver, Margaret Humphrey of Redding, Calif, and Jessie Bigelow of LIttleton; sister of Ernestine Baker and Leona Zimmerman, both of Pueblo, Irene Liscomb of Los Angeles, Calif and Earl Allen of Denver. ALso survived by three grandchildren. She was a member of Grace Community CHurch, St. Charles Mea. She had been a member of DAR of Pueblo and a member of the Republican Party, serving as vice chairman from 1958-1965. In 1959, Mrs. Bigelow was voted Colorado homemaker of the year by the County Extension Service. SHe was the first woman appointed the office of Public Trustee of Pueblo by Gov. John A. Love. She was active in Home Demonstration Clubs, 4-H work and Red Cross service. She was born Jan. 14, 1899, in Albuquerque, N.M. and had been a Pueblo County resident since childhood. Preceded in death by her husband, Jessee A. Bigelow, who passed away Feb. 24, 1970. Service 10 a.m. Monday, Davis Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Rom Arbogast officiating, First Baptist Church. Interment, Beulah Cemetery, Beulah. Mrs. Bigelow will lie in state Sunday at the Davis Memorial Chapel.
