Mr. Thomas Peter Clarke, Sr., 76, passed away peacefully while surrounded by his girls on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Tom, as he was known, worked at the Athelstan Club for 54 years. During those years, he was the Health Club Manager and the General Manager. Tom rarely had anything but a smile on his face, an infectious personality and he left us with a lifetime of laughter and cherished memories. He was the best husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Thomas Peter Clarke, Jr, and Richard Everett Clarke; his parents, William and Agnes Betancourt Clarke; one sister, Patricia Clarke Thublin, and one brother, William Edward Clarke.
He is survived by the love of his life of 54 years, Patricia Everett Clarke; two devoted daughters, Cathy Schwall (Lee) and Melissa Clarke (Amanda Swann); five grandchildren Jonathan Clarke, Tyler Schwall (Morgan), Lauren Roberson, Dana McCall (Eric), and Chris Schwall (Harlan); great-grandchildren, Thomas, Alexander, Harrison, Quinn, Tristyn, Caitlyn, and Daisy; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. The family would like to thank the incredible nurses and doctors at University Hospital, and a special thank you to the staff of Saad’s Hospice Retreat. This allowed us to be together as a family. A memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Saad’s Hospice Retreat or to University Hospital.
