Private family graveside service for Paula D. Jacobs, age 81, of Frederick, Oklahoma, will be held Saturday at the Frederick Memorial Cemetery with Rev. Les Banks officiating.

Mrs. Jacobs passed away on Sunday, February 14, 2021, at the Memorial Nursing Center in Frederick.

She was born July 6, 1939, in Grandfield, Oklahoma, to Lloyd and Hattie (Hunt) Washburn. She grew up in the Chattanooga and Loveland communities, graduating from Loveland High School in 1957. She was united in marriage to James C. “J. C.” Jacobs, Jr. on July 27, 1957, at the Jack Creek Baptist Church. She graduated from Cameron University with a bachelor’s degree and she received her master’s degree from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. She was employed by Frederick Public Schools for 24 years as a teacher and a principal, retiring in June of 1994. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Frederick.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother: Monty Washburn; and her husband J. C. Jacobs, Jr. on October 25, 2013.

Paula is survived by a daughter: Stacie and Phil Hall, of Gainesville, Texas; two sons: J. Frank and Kerri Jacobs and Doug and Sherri Jacobs, all of Frederick, Oklahoma; six grandchildren: Jacob Hall and wife Ashleigh, of Austin, Texas, Savanna Hall, Gainesville, Texas, Lindsay Wynn and husband Eli, of Frederick, Leslie Jacobs, of Frederick, Derek Jacobs and wife Paige, and Dalton Jacobs, all of Frederick; four great grandchildren: Whitney and Emery Wynn, Tucker and Jaycee Jacobs, of Frederick; a sister-in-law: Anna Washburn, of Denison, Texas; and a cherished caregiver: Miracle Mills.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Frederick Public Schools, Prather Brown Elementary, P.O. Box 370, Frederick, OK 73542, or Memorial Nursing Center Activities Fund, 319 E. Josephine, Frederick, OK 73542, in loving memory of Paula Jacobs.
