David Roy Burgess, 65, of Concord, passed away peacefully on February 3, 2021 after a short battle with cancer. He was a beloved Husband, Father and Papa.
Born in Santa Maria, CA, his family moved to Concord when he was 4 years old. He was a 1973 graduate of Clayton Valley High School. Shortly after he graduated, David enlisted in the US Army and served for 2 years. In 1977, David met his wife Teresa and they were married shortly after and raised their 2 children together in Concord. He worked for Berry Brother's Towing for 17 years and made several good friends in the industry along the way. David loved the SF Giants, working on cars, listening to music and spending time with his friends and family. He had a loving heart and was always willing to help.
He was preceded in death by his father Robert Burgess; brothers John, Tony and Allen Burgess; and sister, Nina Wright. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Burgess; son Dan Mitchell (& wife Dawn); daughter Michelle Walls (& husband Jeremy); grandchildren, Emma, Logan, Stella, Ava and Lexi; brother Clark Burgess; and sister Kay Shelby.
David was loved by all that knew him and will be deeply missed.
