Mr. James "Jim" Thomas Darnell, 83, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018. Mr. Darnell was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Surry County to Robert Lee Darnell and Connie Ruth Talley Darnell.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Darnell was preceded in death by his sisters, Joann Crater and Nancy Price; and his niece, Kimberly Lapsley.
Survivors include his sister, Colleen Jones of Elkin; nieces and spouses, Donna Sallee and Brad and Stacy Darnell and Donnie; nephews and spouses, Bobby Jones, Mike Crater Chris, Gordon Jones and Mark Price and Betty; brother-in-law, Joe Price.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 10, 2018, at 11 a.m. at Elkin Valley Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Hollywood Cemetery.
