Ernestine Campbell (Weaver)
Friday, February 19th, 1937 - Saturday, February 13th, 2021
Ethel Ernestine Weaver Campbell, age 83, went home to be with the Lord on February 13, 2021.
She was born on February 19, 1937 to James Ernest Weaver and Ethel Moore Weaver. On November 7, 1953, she married Mitchell Lane Campbell. She was a homemaker, was very active in her church, New Hope Baptist Church of Gorman, where she served as pianist for many years, and she enjoyed her Senior Adult Sunday School class.
She enjoyed singing with groups and in duets at New Hope, sewing, cooking and playing the piano. During the last few years, she really enjoyed living at the Gorman Senior Living Hotel and all the activities there. She was continually with her sister, Marjorie, and her friend, Fay Cook. Some of us called them the three Musketeers since they went everywhere together – church, shopping, doctor appointments and Sunday meals at Mi Casa. She thoroughly enjoyed camping and fishing with her family. She and Lane hosted many events at the Campbell lake lot at Lake Leon for years. She loved her family of children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and her great great granddaughter.
She is survived by her three sons, Brad and wife, Ruth, Campbell; James and wife, Robin, Campbell; and Gary Campbell, all of Gorman; her sister, Marjorie Nell Treadway, of Gorman; her brothers-in-law, Jimmy Campbell and wife, Ora Mae, of Runaway Bay; and Larry Campbell and wife, Joy, of Gorman; her nine grandchildren and spouses; her twenty great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. She will also be missed by her church family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lane Campbell; her parents; and one sister-in-law, Mary Geraldine Hicks.
