Mr. Cecil Campbell Willis, at the age of 80 years, fell asleep in Jesus on February 17, 2021. He was joined in holy matrimony to Carolyne Brown on January 11, 1965. Preceded in death by his parents Louis Dale and Doris Geraldine Willis; sisters Patsy (Bruce) Waterman, Terry (Glenn) Carter and brother Glenn Anthony “Tony” Willis.
He is survived by his wife Carolyne of 56 years; sisters Dale (Billy) Bushulen, Karey (Randall) Gregory, Doris Willis, Harriet (Michael) Springer, Amanda Willis; brother Phillip (Beverly) Willis and numerous nieces and nephews.
Cecil was a 1959 graduate of East High School. He served his country with pride in the United States Army from 1961-1965. On July 13, 2001, Cecil retired after 30 years of service between Dupont and Reemay/BBA Fiberweb. He served as President of the Wellington Neighborhood Association. He was an enthusiastic sports fan of Vanderbilt University. Above all his living interest and his dedication to his family and friends never ended. How blessed we all are to have known him.
God blessed Cecil’s life with special people as he served God in his vocations at home, church, work and in the community.
The family extends their gratitude and appreciation to all who loved and touched Cecil’s life. He will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
A private memorial service for family only will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts in Cecil’s name may be given to Ascension Lutheran Church, 610 W Old Hickory Blvd, Madison, TN 37115 for the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
