David Lee Ragland, 77, of Tower Hill passed away Monday, February 15, 2021 in St. Mary’s Health Care System – Athens GA. He was born December 30, 1943 in Decatur to the late Bruce and Vivian Ragland. He married Betty Ann Grabowski on July 13, 1963 in Decatur and she preceded him on June 25, 2019.
David enjoyed fishing for most of his life and loved to fish with his best friend Tom Tolbert. He was a gun enthusiast and had a collection he was proud to pass down to his son and grandkids.
David is survived by his son, David Wayne (Stephanie) Ragland, Colbert, GA ; grandchildren: Jaycob (Jordan), Nathan, Taylor (Chris), Caiden; 2 great-grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Cheryl (John) Havener, Mt. Zion, IL.
Funeral services for David will be held Monday, February 22, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. in McCracken-Dean Funeral Home with Pastor Leon Goff officiating. Burial will be in Tower Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorials in David’s honor may be made to the American Cancer Society, 687 E. Linton Ave., Springfield, IL 62703 and will be accepted by McCracken-Dean Funeral Home who is assisting the family.
