On June 16, 1984, Floyd was united in marriage with Tamara Jane Kelsey at his mother’s home. The couple lived in or around Aplington all of their married life. Floyd worked in construction, operating heavy equipment.
Floyd enjoyed doing anything outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, camping and canoeing. He also liked to collect items from auctions. Floyd’s greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren.
On Tuesday, February 16, 2021, Floyd died at his home in Aplington. He is preceded in death by one son, Thomas Miller and his parents, Joe and Katheryn Miller.
Floyd is survived by a daughter, Jodie of Marshalltown; two stepchildren, Kelly (Jeff) Kramer of Cedar Falls, Iowa and April (Wes) Peters of Parkersburg; six grandchildren, Brandon (Kelsey) Peters, Tyler (Olivia) Peters, Blayne Kramer, Kelsey Kramer, Lauryn (fiancé, Robbie D’Amato), Aleeya Peters; five great-grandchildren, Cecilia and Wade Peters, Jaxsen, Oaklynn and Graysen Peters; and one brother, Jim (Evelyn) Miller of Osage, Iowa.
According to Floyd’s wishes, he is being cremated. No services are planned at this time. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
