She was born Feb. 9, 1927 in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Howard and Lucille Knott Carlson.
She was a graduate of the former Bemus Point High School.
Mary loved her family, especially her grandchildren and was a big part in her great-grandchildren's life.
Mary is survived by her husband of 75 years Ellis R. Norton, whom she married on Nov. 11, 1945; a daughter, Mary (Larry) Muntz; two sons: Jeffrey Norton and Donald (Diane) Norton; four grandchildren: Kimberly Sisley, Michael (Amy) Sisley, Aaron Norton, Brian Norton; six great-grandchildren: Jayden Sisley, Kymiah Ryan, Ellisai Ryan, Caleb Sisley, Ella Sisley, Addyson Sisley; a sister-in-law Clarice Gates; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son Randy Norton and a sister Joyce Joneson.
