Alice F.M. Lawlis, widow of Judge Robert M. Lawlis of Houlton Died December 28, at a local hospital after a short illness. She was born on April 6, 1896, at Houlton, the daughter of John B. and Lucia Rose Madigan. She married Robert M. Lawlis on November 20, 1919.
Mrs. Lawlis was a member of St. Mary's Church and past president of the Houlton Humane Society.
Her father John Madigan, was a lawyer and rose to be one of five Houlton men to serve on the Main Supreme Court and Mr. Lawlis, her husband was a former judge of the Houlton Municipal Court and of probate court.
Survivors include two sons, Richard C. of Houlton and Robert M. of Lafayette, Ind.: one daughter Joan W. of Houlton; five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Friday from St. Mary's Church with the Rev. Raymond L. McKeone officiating.
