Interment will be in Zion Travelers Baptist Cemetery. Pastor Brown will officiate at the services.
Mr. Brooks was a native of Carencro and lifelong resident of Sunset. A devout Christian, Paul was a devoted Deacon at Zion Travelers Baptist Church. He was good man who loved serving the Lord and preaching His word. In his spare time, he enjoyed BBQing, gardening, and taking care of others, especially his family. Anything you needed, if he had it, it was yours. He was a retired cement finisher for T.L. James for over thirty-five years and Metcan for over ten years. His loving and caring heart will be greatly missed by his legacy, relatives, and friends.
Survivors include one daughter, Lillian Joyce Perkins and her husband, Keith; four grandchildren, Raven Perkins of Woodlands, TX, Keith Perkins, II of Houston, TX, and Jordan Perkins and Justin Perkins of Beaumont, TX; and his Godchildren, Ronald Brooks of Sunset, Kevin Henry of Port Arthur, TX, April Jenkins of Beaumont, TX, Christine Jones of Sunset, Morris Richard, Jr., of Lafayette, Stephanie Washington of Clear Water, FL, and Tori Wildridge of Lafayette.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Valmont Brooks, Sr. and the former Eva Lilly both natives of Carencro; seven sisters, Mary Lee B. Richard, Anna Mae Brooks, Elizabeth B. Johnson, Adleine Brooks, Eva L. Brooks, Velma B. Little, and Catherine B. Minix; and three brothers, Isaac Brooks, Henry Brooks, and Valmont Brooks, Jr.
The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. Saturday until service time on Saturday.
