June Marie (Storch) Brown, age 83, passed away on February 14, 2021 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
June was born June 24, 1937 in St Albans, Queens NY.

She was a girl scout and very active in the Lutheran church near her home. June graduated from Andrew Jackson High School class of 1955.

After graduation she worked a short time for the New York Telephone Company.

While growing up in the City, her family owned a summer home in South Plymouth NY, and she spent wonderful summers with her grandparents in the quiet countryside. There was a handsome young man that would drive by on a tractor, and one day her grandmother stopped him and told him that her granddaughter would love to meet him. Long story short, Dealton “Chub” Brown and June were married November 4 1956 in a beautiful princess wedding in St Albans, NY. After the wedding she moved with her new husband to South Plymouth where they resided for 54 years. June led a quiet life being a home maker and raised 4 children, Linda Powell-Owens (John) of Plymouth, James Brown of South New Berlin, Terri Brown of Keene NY, and Laurie Meyers (Donald) of James Creek, Pa.

Family was very important to June and she spent hours lovingly crocheting blankets for her grandchildren as they joined the family, Kevin (Danya) Powell, Michael (Krystal) Powell, Jennifer (Tyler) McCarthy, Quinn Brown and his companion Tammy, Bill (Midori) Brown, Adam (Sarah) Brown, J.T. Giglinto, Ethan Giglinto, June (James) Hill, Jamie (Derrick) Anderson, Jessica (Christopher) Shope, Jeanna Sabins, Jeffrey Sabins and Jaclynn Sabins. Also surviving are 27 great-grandchildren.

June’s hobby’s included reading, puzzles, and of course crocheting. What she enjoyed most was being with family and loved to attend family gatherings for birthdays & holidays and any other time there was a reason to get together.

In 2010, after 53 years of marriage, she lost the love of her life, Dealton. She made the sad decision to leave the large farmhouse she loved, and lived with her daughter for a few years, then for almost 6 years, she enjoyed the camaraderie of other seniors living at the Chenango Valley Home in Norwich.

She is predeceased by her parents, Henry & Margaret, her sister Carol and her two close cousins, Harold & Bob.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Chenango Valley Home and to the ICU nurses at Chenango Memorial Hospital for their compassionate care and support. Respecting June’s wishes, there will not be calling hours or a funeral service. There will be a private family burial in the spring.
Donations in June’s name can be made to the Chenango Valley Home, 24 Canasawacta Street, Norwich NY 13815.
Arrangements have been entrusted to R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
