LINCOLN - Ronald D. Cook, 71, of Lincoln, formerly of Grand Island, died Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at Bryan West Medical Center in Lincoln.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 19, at the Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island. The Rev. Mark Oberbeck will officiate. Burial will be in Westlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Ronald Dean Cook was born May 5, 1949, at Grand Island to Frederick M. and Levora (Fuehrer) Cook. He graduated from Northwest High School in 1967, and attended one year at Central Nebraska Technological College at Hastings, majoring in auto mechanics.
In September 1973, Ron began his career as an over-the-road truck driver. He purchased his own rig in 1990 and became an owner-operator. He was employed by several Midwest trucking companies over the years. Ron retired due to failing health.
Survivors include his sisters, Karen (Ernest) Johnson of Hastings and Judy Hendrickson of Grand Island; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two nephews, William Hendrickson and James E. Hendrickson Jr.
