Born March 17, 1935 in Greenport, NY, she was the daughter of the late Walter S. and Gladys (Griffing) Ruland.
Edith was a homemaker all her life and took great pleasure in raising her children. In her later years, she enjoyed the company of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Edith’s interests and hobbies included tole painting, crafts, reading and spending time with the dogs.
On August 21, 1952 she married Kenneth J. Dixon and he predeceased her on April 14, 2010.
Surviving Edith are her children: James (Mary Rose) Dixon, Kenneth Dixon, David J. (Kathy) Dixon; five grandchildren: Jennifer Whiting, Amanda Dixon, Gregory Dixon, Craig Dixon and Veronica Castro; and three great-grandchildren.
