Obituary of Shirley McLin Harmon

Mrs. Shirley McLin Harmon, age 87, of Duluth, Georgia passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2018. Shirley was born on March 5, 1931 in Birmingham, Alabama a daughter to the late Earle McLin and Edna May Brazell McLin. Shirley spent majority of her adult life in Orlando and in Georgia. She had a wry sense of humor and a gentle laugh. She was always gracious and grateful. Shirley loved cats and adopted a number of otherwise “unadoptable” cats; and was also an ardent supporter of Furkids. She was an active member of her church, Christ Church Episcopal, serving many hours in the thrift shop. Shirley was a wonderful wife, mother, sister, and friend; Shirley will certainly be missed by all who knew and loved her. Along with her parents Shirley is preceded in death by her late husband, Howard B. Harmon II and son, Howard B. Harmon III. She is survived by one son, Robert ‘Bob’ Harmon and sister, Eugenia Canno. A funeral service to honor the life of Mrs. Shirley Harmon will be held at two o’clock in the afternoon on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Christ Church Episcopal in Norcross. Interment will follow in the Green Lawn Cemetery of Roswell, Georgia. In lieu of customary remembrances donations may be made to the Christ Church Episcopal or furkids.org.
