Don was born November 9th, 1928 to Ben and Mary Newman in Lincoln, NE.
As a boy Don liked to hang out at the airport and watch the planes take off and land, run around his neighborhood with his best friend Don Bomberger.
After graduating from Lincoln High School, Don served in the Army for 2 years and spoke often about his adventures in Korea. After Don returned home, he met and married Judy Dwyer also from Lincoln. Don went to work for his brother Ben at Roy's Garage. Working at different mechanic shops throughout his career, ending at Singer Salvage where he made many friends.
When not working Don enjoyed playing cards with his brothers and hanging out with his dog Skoshi. Don also enjoyed spending time with his daughters, who he loved very much.
Don is survived by his 4 daughters, Debra, Mary (Ron), Dawny (Andy), and Cathy, all in Lincoln, grandchildren Ryan, Jaime, Carly (Ross), Ben (Kim), Aimee (Adam), Colton, Beth (Tim), Josh (Amanda), Emily and 14 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.
