James R. Yoder

Age 76, of Vandalia, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2021. Jim was born January 11, 1945 in Dayton, Ohio, son of the late James and Mary Eleanor (Dwire) Yoder. He graduated from Trotwood High School and then received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Dayton in 1974. Jim married his beloved high school sweetheart, Darlene (Mendenhall) Yoder in 1964 whom he is survived by. He is also survived by his daughter, Mary Yoder of Vandalia; his son, Mark (Lisa) Yoder of Cicero, IN; three grandchildren, Kelsey, McKinley and Nathan; and sister, Jacqueline Yoder of Show Low, AZ.

Jim was preceded in death by his sister, Sally Oostra.

He was a long-time member of the Covenant at Sugar Grove Church. Jim worked in the engineering area of the automotive industry from 1963 – 2005. He was a member of the GM Delco Products 25-year Club and also worked for ITT and Valeo.

Jim and Darlene were devoted to each other and spent all their time together for the last 20 years.

The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. to 12 Noon on Saturday, February 20, at Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Drive, Vandalia, Ohio 45377. Funeral services will follow at 12 Noon with Pastor Jody McGuire officiating. Interment will be at Polk Grove Cemetery in Butler Twp.
