Mrs. Joyce Daneen Dean, 84, of Henderson, passed from this life on February 15, 2021, at UT Health in Tyler.

She was born November 12, 1936, in Rusk county to the late Dan and Sybil (King) Dickeson.

Daneen devoted her life to the education of children for over 30 years. She was a teacher for Overton and then spent the majority of her career in Leverett's Chapel before spending her last 4 years with Full Armor Christian Academy. Mrs. Dean loved to read and thought it was important, and she wanted children to be able to read.

She also loved to paint and enjoyed drawing and art work.

Daneen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly.

Mrs. Dean was a member of First Baptist Church of Henderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin Dean; son, Michael Dean; and brother, Gaines Dickeson.

Survivors include her children, Patrice Gage and husband Rex, and Christian Dean and wife Lana, all of Henderson; grandchildren, Halea Gage Smith and husband Matthew, Chelsea Hudson and husband Aaron, Taylor Dean, Trevor Dean and wife Rachael, Chandler Dean, Tera Vega and husband Johan, and Mikenzie Dean; 11 great-grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services for Mrs. Dean are pending with Crawford-A. Crim Funeral Home. A register book will be available February 17-22, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for friends and family to come and sign and pay their respect to Daneen. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, masks or face coverings are strongly recommended, however not required, for the health and safety of all those in attendance for a visitation or service.

Graveside services for Mrs. Dean will be held at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, February 23, 2021 at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. A register book will be available February 17-22, 2021 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for friends and family to come and sign and pay their respect to Daneen. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, masks or face coverings are strongly recommended, however not required, for the health and safety of all those in attendance for a visitation or service.

Mrs. Joyce Daneen Dean, 84, of Henderson, passed from this life on February 15, 2021, at UT Health in Tyler. She was born November 12, 1936, in Rusk county to the late Dan and Sybil (King) Dickeson. Daneen devoted her life to the education of children for over 30 years. She was a teacher for Overton and then spent the majority of her career in Leverett's Chapel before spending her last 4 years with Full Armor Christian Academy. Mrs. Dean loved to read and thought it was important, and she wanted children to be able to read. She also loved to paint and enjoyed drawing and art work. Daneen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Mrs. Dean was a member of First Baptist Church of Henderson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edwin Dean; son, Michael Dean; and brother, Gaines Dickeson.
