Alexander McPherson was a charter member of Antioch (Gravel Hill) Christian Church on Sinking Creek in Craig county, Virginia, organized in 1823 and later elected elder therein and became the last surviving charter member of it before his death, July 6, 1898, at age 93 years.
He married Mary Ellender Kemper, the scriviner of their marriage license writing and recording her maiden name (Camper).
