Laura June Blankenship, 82, Winfield, died Sunday, March 26, 2006, at Winfield Good Samaritan Village. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 30, at Miles Funeral Service. Interment will follow in the Belle Plaine Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 9 p.m. Wednesday. The family will greet friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Born June 9, 1923, in Milan, she was the daughter of Ralph and Blanche (Witters) Hain. She had worked at Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Oxwell in Wellington, and the Army Ammunition Plant in Parsons. Survivors include her husband, Charles Blankenship, Winfield; sons, Keith Blankenship, Colorado, Dale Blankenship, Texas, and Danny Blankenship, Texas; daughters, Shirley Rowan, Kansas, Judy Davis, Kansas, and S. Blankenship, Oklahoma; brothers, Floyd Hain, Kansas City, Mo., and Forrest Hain, Mayfield; sister, Viola Robinson, Lamar, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Harold, John, Jim, Curly and George; sister, Mary Waetzig; and one granddaughter.

Memorials have been established for Good Samaritan Village and Hospice Care of Kansas. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Miles Funeral Service, Winfield.
