Lavern Dowdle Fullmer was born Tuesday, August 14, 1917 in Preston, Idaho to Robert Hazen Dowdle and Lydia Bell Chapman.


She married Mack Vergie Fullmer in the Salt Lake Temple on February 21, 1939. He preceded her in death on April 18, 2002.


She was a great homemaker, gardener, cook, seamstress and ice cream maker. She was a shipyard welder during World War II. With Mack she served two missions for the LDS Church to Virginia and Guatemala.


Lavern died Sunday, October 14, 2007 at her home. She resided at 6166 West Brook Hollow Drive (3650 South) in the Hunter area of West Valley City, Utah at the time of her death.


A viewing was held on Thursday, October 18, 2007 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Estates Mortuary located at 6500 South Redwood Road (1700 West) in Taylorsville. Funeral Services were held on Friday, October 19, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the Hunter First Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints located at 3665 South 6000 West in West Valley City. A viewing was held one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Graveside Services were held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in the Cedar Butte Cemetery in Annis, Idaho, where she was laid to rest beside her Beloved Husband Mack.
A Memorial Service was held at 12:00 p.m. in the Menan Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Menan, Idaho.
