Billie Rose Perry
November 23, 1926 - February 14, 2021

Billie Rose Perry, 94, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, died Sunday, February 14, 2021. Mrs. Perry was born to Margaret and Walter Roberts at Magee, MS, on November 23, 1926. She was the youngest of their 10 children.
The family moved to Laurel, MS, and Mrs. Perry attended Laurel public schools and graduated from R. H. Watkins High School in 1944. In 1946 she married Dewitt Talmadge "D.T." Perry, Jr., of Poplarville, MS, a U.S. Navy SeaBee who returned from service in World War II in the South Pacific. The couple settled in Hattiesburg, where Mr. Perry was establishing Hub Equipment Company with his father.
In Hattiesburg, Mrs. Perry was a lifelong member of Temple Baptist Church – first at Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, the Temple Baptist Church, the Temple Baptist Church West Campus, and – in recent years – Hardy Street Baptist Church. She was active in the children's ministry, teaching age 4 Sunday School for 34 years, and in the church choir, and in WMU.
Family and friends brought her great joy, and she also enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a loving and devoted wife, and she will be remembered as a loving and caring mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Billie Rose Perry is survived by her four daughters, Lynda Goodman of Hattiesburg (David), Susan Gaddis of Purvis (Cliff), Theresa Fowler of Destin, FL (Doss), and June Perry-Silva of Angels Camp, CA (Gilbert); grandchildren Perry Goodman of Birmingham, AL, Amy Goodman Saul of Birmingham, AL (Drennan), Lauren Clark Tusa of Pass Christian, MS (Matt), Perry Rebecca Fowler of New Orleans, LA, William Doss Fowler of New York, NY; and great-grandchildren Chase Saul and Chloe Rose Saul of Birmingham, AL, and Fiona Rigby Tusa and Cyrus Saunders Tusa of Pass Christian, MS.
A private graveside service for the family will be held at Highland Cemetery on Saturday, February 20, 2021.
Moore Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Perry's daughters wish to express their great appreciation for the staff at Provisions Living of Hattiesburg, with a special thanks to DeeDee Whitledge and to Jennifer Anderson, who are dedicated and loving caregivers, and they dearly appreciate the kindness and care shown by the staff of Asbury Hospice House of Forrest General Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Hardy Street Baptist Church.
