Wilma B. Devore, 97, longtime Burden resident, died Thursday, March 16, 2006, at the William Newton Memorial Hospital, Winfield. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 20, 2006, at the Miles Funeral Service, Winfield. Interment will follow in the Burden Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 3-8 p.m. on Sunday. Family will greet friends from 4-6 p.m. Born May 26, 1908, in rural Great Bend, she was the daughter of Robert and Clara (Barrows) Hensley. Survivors include a son, Marvin Devore, Richmond, Texas; a sister, Bonnie Jean Backues, of Columbia, Mo., and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Devore; her parents; brothers Emmett, Elmer, Delbert, Virgil, Lee and Merle; and her sisters, Glenna, Elsie, Jessie, Edith and Almeda.
A memorial has been established with the Cumbernauld Village Activities Fund. Contributions may be made through the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Miles Funeral Service, Winfield.
