Mr. Arthur J. Wright Jr., an Airforce Veteran, who is affectionately known as “Tank” or “Pop,” passed away peacefully on the morning of February 3, 2021, at the age of 87 years old. God then sent his angels to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center to escort Mr. Tank through the heavenly gates of eternal life. Through those heavenly gates, Mr. Tank greeted his mother “Mae Frances Jones,” his stepfather “Ollie Jones,” and his granddaughter Shenikka “Nikk” McNeil. However, Mr. Tank left behind part of his family to cherish wonderful memories of him and to continue to live out his legacy.
Those who are left to cherish his memories are his beautiful wife Mrs. LaVerne Jones-Wright; his children: Evangelist Angelene (Pastor Perry), and Sharon; stepchildren: Gwendolyn (Steve), Corine (Derrick), Jerome “Flip” (Laytora); grandchildren: Vincent, Schandra, Jonathan, Quantamus, Khalim, Chance, Sharyahna, Kay Kay, Damien, Dylan, LiL Derrick, Marquise, A’mare, Tatianna, Jordan, and Marie (Ree-Ree); great-grandchildren: Dominique, Malia, and Kayden; and a host of relatives and friends.
