Born on July 18th, 1926 in Travelers Rest, SC, Peggy was the daughter of Clarence Mitchell Morgan and Emily Bright Morgan. She was one of eight children. Her siblings included: James Clarence ("J.C.") Morgan; Eugene Floyd Morgan; Jessie Flora Mae Morgan Wood; Joanna Morgan Ward; Ethel Morgan Poore, Inez Morgan Taylor (all deceased) and Hilda Morgan Jernigan.
For sixty-six years, Peggy was married to George Thomas Williams, who absolutely adored her. He predeceased her in 2013.
Peggy was employed in management at Southern Bell Telephone Company. She retired after twenty-five years there.
Family and home were the major cornerstones of Peggy's life. She strongly believed in the higher education of women, including her daughters. Peggy loved being a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Among her greatest joys was hosting family gatherings for birthdays, holidays and casual visits. Her favorite pastimes were baking and gardening.
Church was also an important part of Peggy's life. She participated in many worship, fellowship and outreach activities at Sans Souci Baptist Church, where she was a member all her adult life. At senior fellowship events, Peggy was known for her happy attitude and delicious coconut cake.
Throughout her lifetime, Peggy showed great perseverance and resilience. These strong characteristics powered her through a devastating stroke when she was 72. Regardless of what befell her, she made it through difficult situations with grit, determination, grace and dignity.
Surviving are her daughters Brenda Williams Lohsen (Mark) and Diane Williams Reynolds (Jim); three grandchildren Emily Harris (Luke), Grant Lohsen (Sarah) and Andrew Lohsen (Matthew Schaaf); four great grandchildren Zane and Zoe Lohsen (Grant and Sarah) and Charles and George Harris (Emily and Luke). She was beloved "Mimi" to all the grandchildren and great grandchildren.
