Dunedin, FL - Larry Eugene Perry, 82, Dunedin, Florida, passed away January 23, 2021, with his "sweetie" Patsy Madonna Hutchens Perry by his side at Belleair Health Care Center, Clearwater, Florida.

Larry was born in Muncie, Indiana on July 14, 1938, to his parents Lloyd and Mae Perry. Larry was a "Muncie guy". He graduated from Burris High School in 1956. He played basketball for Burris and Ball State Teachers College (University), and later went on to play basketball for the Industrial League with Morris Company and Vise Masonry.

Larry is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patsy Madonna Hutchens Perry, daughter Susan Jill Perry (Dennis Bruner) Muncie, IN, sister Janet Perry Drake, Owosso, MI, sister-in-law, Norma D. Crockett, Sarasota, FL, sister-in-law, Jama J. Spurgeon (Kevin Spurgeon) Muncie, IN. Including many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, cousins and many friends. Larry will also be missed by his best buddy Ted Fullhart and all the Fullhart family.

Larry grew up with his parents, his brother, Ed Perry and his sister Janet Perry Drake. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Lloyd and Mae Perry, his son Phillip Lynn Perry, brother Ed Perry, brother-in-law William Drake, brother-in-law Bill Crockett, son-in-law Shane Emberton, and mother and father- in-law James and Ellen Hutchens.

When Larry met Patsy (A Royerton Redbird) it was true love which would forever change their lives. Larry was planning a career in basketball in Arizona and Patsy was going to work at Wright Patterson Airforce Base in Dayton, Ohio. Things changed. Patsy and Larry knew their love for each other was something special. They married on July 14, 1957. Larry was 19 years old and Patsy was 20. Their life began as a beautiful couple. Larry was playing basketball for Ball State Teachers College (University) and Patsy was working at Ball Memorial Hospital. Within a year, Larry and Patsy had their son Phillip, and a year later, their daughter Susan.

Life continued on for Larry and Patsy. He learned good work ethics from his father when he was a young man by helping him grow vegetables in their garden and selling them to local markets. This helped Larry to appreciate the quality of excellent working skills throughout his entire life. Having good work ethics also helped him to buy another love in his life, his white 1953 Corvette. However, Patsy and Larry soon realized that this was not going to be a good "family car" so it had to go. Some of his first jobs were working at Covalts Dairy and Riggins Dairy. Larry retired from a successful career with General Motors Delco Battery. After retirement, he owned a construction business with his partner Tim Mitchell, The Trades Mark Company. Larry loved his job of finishing trim work, custom cabinetry, building custom framed homes, hardwood floors and decking. One of his most proud accomplishments was remodeling Cammack Station. Larry was a member of the Delaware County Hall of Fame.

Some of Larry's most wonderful memories were spent vacationing with his family and friends at Crystal Falls, MI at Bewabic State Park. He and his father-in-law Jim, spent many hours fishing there and on trips to Canada and Indian Trail Lake with their family and friends. Larry and Patsy retired to Dunedin, Florida in 2015.

Larry will always be remembered as a gentle giant. He will be remembered by his kindness and love for his loving wife Patsy, whom he loved more than anything else in the world, and his daughter Suzi, as well as his extended family and friends.

Thank you to the staff at Belleair Health Care for their love, kindness and compassion for the Perry family. We are going to miss you Larry, Dad, LP, Papa P, Papa Bear, Lar-Bear and Mr. Perry. You were an amazing husband, father, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend.
