She was preceded in death by her husband, Dean L. Jackson; her grandson, Christopher Dean Jackson; her parents, Edward and Elsie Howell; and her siblings, Roy Howell, Iris Parker and Brian Howell.
She is survived by her sons, Terry D. Jackson (Kay) of Magnolia, MS, Gary D. Jackson (Linda) of Gulfport, MS, and Jody B. Jackson (Darlene) of Woolmarket; her daughter, Jacqueline "Jackie" E. Groark (Brian) of Duluth, GA; her grandchildren, Stephen A. Jackson, Sarah M. Reviere (Gary), Joy Schonewitz (Ollie), Misty Warburton (Michael), Michelle N. Jackson, Tyler A. Jackson, Brian Jackson, Miranda Cofield (Joey), Matthew A. Valestro, Jeremy J. Valestro, and Gabriel J. Groark; 7 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Jackson was born in London, England. She was a professional ice skater with the Ice Capades. She met and married her husband Dean while he was stationed in London, then moved to the U.S. Ella was proud to be a dedicated military wife and homemaker. She was an active member of Success Baptist Church, where she enjoyed volunteering and participating in church activities.
After retirement, they met many new friends while volunteering and delivering prescriptions for their son at Jackson’s Discount Pharmacy.
She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She put her family first, enjoyed family gatherings, and was proud of all her children's accomplishments.
Friends are invited to join the Jackson family for visitation and services on Saturday, February 20, 2021 at RIEMANN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., with the service to follow at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will be held at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
