Jerry was adopted from the Belmont County Children's Home in St. Clairesville, Ohio by Reuben and Emma Schultz on April 2, 1936. His name was originally changed to "Henry Russell Schultz" but then finally changed to Jerry Lee Schultz after Reuben died and Emma remarried to Elmer Moore who both raised him in Amanda, Ohio.
After graduating from Amanda High School he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and completed basic training at Parris Island, South Carolina then completed Marine Corps Aviation School in Jacksonville, Florida. After his military service he worked as an electrical lineman with Ohio Power and later lived for many years in Florida.
He is survived by his son Mark, daughter Christine and adopted son Rod; 2 half-brothers and 3 half-sisters; many grandchildren and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his sons; Jerry Lee and Jamie Douglas Schultz, half-brothers; Rex Downey, Richard Giesey and Stanley Giesey; half-sister Shirley (Giesey) Sigall and step-sister Bernice (Schultz) Blough.
His passion was the love of the outdoors, fishing and hunting.
