Warner Robins, GA – A.D. Brown, 93, husband of the late Elsie Louise (Bennett) Brown, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at his residence. The memorial service celebrating his life will be Thursday, February 11, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at Oakland Baptist Church with Reverend Mike Winfree officiating. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Oakland Baptist Church; 1509 Russell Pkwy; Warner Robins, GA 31088, or to the Rehoboth Baptist Association Appalachian Ministry; 744 Lake Joy Rd; Warner Robins, GA 31088. Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic and at Mr. A.D. Brown’s request, anyone wishing to attend the service is required to wear a mask and social distance. The service will be streamed live and is accessible by visiting Oakland WR on youtube. Mr. and Mrs. Brown will be interred at a later date at Andersonville National Cemetery with full military honors.
A.D. was born January 26, 1928, in Montezuma, GA, to the late Aubrey Driskell Brown and Beulah Lee (Truitt) Brown Bussell. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps. A.D. was a retired civil servant from Robins Air Force Base, where he worked as an Air Logistics Specialist. He was formerly involved with the Warner Robins Touchdown Club; he enjoyed outdoor gardening, especially growing fruit-bearing trees, and vines; he also enjoyed working alongside his wife at her ceramics shop on Russell Parkway. A.D. was a Mason and avid stock market investor. He was an active member of Oakland Baptist Church. In addition to his wife and parents, A.D. was preceded in death by his brother, Maurice Brown, and stepfather, James Riley Bussell.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Alan Brown (Kay) of Bishop, GA, and LuAnn Brown of Warner Robins, GA; grandchildren: Andy Brown (Shelby), Tucker Brown (Tessie), and Leanna Brown; great-grandchildren: Gage, Owen, Elsie, Avington, and Thomas.
