Marilyn Fredrick, 85, and LaVerne Fredrick, 85, both of Largo, Florida and formerly of Yale, met their Heavenly Father January 5th and 13th, just eight days apart, passing away as a result of complications from COVID while in the hospital in Pinellas County, Florida.

Marilyn was born in Owosso, Michigan on February 21st 1935, the daughter of the late Ivan G. and Mary M. Tobey. Marilyn’s marriage to LaVerne Fredrick was on October 24th, 1954 in Vernon, Michigan.

Marilyn loved The Lord and her church, being involved in many activities related to the church including singing in the choir, playing the piano and participating in prayer groups. She volunteered her time to many church functions including helping with a Food Pantry at her church, Oak Ridge Wesleyan in Florida and was active with missions.

She played an active role by her husband’s side as they reached out to teens while working at Hephzibah Children’s Home in Macon, Georgia for many years. Marilyn was tender-hearted, always taking time to listen and then share how God is faithful to those who believe. She enjoyed sewing, baking and spending time reading her devotional, praying for many. She had faithfully worked for many years at the former Bricker Bros. Ace in Yale.

Surviving are Marilyn’s two sisters; Maxine (Gordie) Strahle of St. Johns, Michigan and Sharron Chabica of North Carolina.

Her sister Fay (Allan) Buecking of Flushing preceded her in death.

Marilyn and LaVerne loved spending time with their six children; Greg (Dianne) Fredrick of Denver, Colorado, Tim Fredrick of Maine, Tammy Alexander of Largo, Florida, David (Betty) Fredrick of Yale, Teresa (Mick) Fredrick North of San Angelo, Texas and Tom (Shelly) Fredrick of St. Petersburg, Florida. LaVerne and Marilyn’s 12 grandchildren; Lindsay, Matt, Sydney, Nicholas, Courtney, Sam, Jessica, Makenzie, Zach, Brooke, Justin and Brady along with nine great-grandchildren; Owen, Noah, Vivienne, Logan, Mallory, Delaney, Brynn, Bennett and Kaylyn along their faithful companion and emotional support grandpup Chloe; all were the apple of their eyes.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Florida at a later date.

Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon, Michigan.
