Marilyn Fredrick, 85, and LaVerne Fredrick, 85, both of Largo, Florida and formerly of Yale, met their Heavenly Father January 5th and 13th, just eight days apart, passing away as a result of complications from COVID while in the hospital in Pinellas County, Florida.

LaVerne was born in Owosso, Michigan on December 24th, 1935 to the late Gerald and Beatrice Fredrick. He held several jobs both in Owosso and later in Yale, before moving out of state for employment.

Both he and Marilyn played an active role at Hephzibah’s Children’s Home in Macon, Georgia for many years, running the facility’s farm.

Agriculture was a big part of LaVerne’s life, having raised farm animals at a young age and continuing to be involved in various aspects of Ag, including helping at County Fairs. He was also involved in the church, serving on various boards, most recently at Oak Ridge Wesleyan.

LaVerne is survived by a sister, Janet Fleeker of Fargo, North Dakota.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Geraldine (Roy) Pincomb and brothers Roger (Mae) Fredrick of St. Petersburg, Florida and Gary Fredrick, also of Florida.

Marilyn and LaVerne loved spending time with their six children; Greg (Dianne) Fredrick of Denver, Colorado, Tim Fredrick of Maine, Tammy Alexander of Largo, Florida, David (Betty) Fredrick of Yale, Teresa (Mick) Fredrick North of San Angelo, Texas and Tom (Shelly) Fredrick of St. Petersburg, Florida. LaVerne and Marilyn’s 12 grandchildren; Lindsay, Matt, Sydney, Nicholas, Courtney, Sam, Jessica, Makenzie, Zach, Brooke, Justin and Brady along with nine great-grandchildren; Owen, Noah, Vivienne, Logan, Mallory, Delaney, Brynn, Bennett and Kaylyn along their faithful companion and emotional support grandpup Chloe; all were the apple of their eyes.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held in Florida at a later date.

Burial will be at the Greenwood Cemetery in Vernon, Michigan.
