Dillard Hugh McManus was the son of Ramsey and Mamie Ingram McManus. He served aboard the carrier USS Randolph during World War II then returned home and married Catherine “Kitty” Jackson. He was a successful egg and poultry farmer prior to becoming a production manager of Sanderson Farms where he remained for 23 years until his death.
Dillard loved the land, his wife, two daughters, son and his four sisters. He was especially fond of his cows and loved the dogs that were always present in the household.
