Robert passed away Saturday, February 13, 2021 at home. He was born in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Charles and Judith Burgess. Robert married Shelley Smith on February 21, 1997 she survives him. He was employed in maintenance/construction trades. Robert enjoyed fishing, working outdoors, grilling, riding his moped, walking his dogs and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Surviving besides his wife, Shelley are their children, Allison and Emily Burgess, Kevin (Brittany) Kapuscinski; grandchildren, Michael Kapuscinski and Lauryn Fath; his mother-in-law, Susan Swartz; sister, Wendy (William) Naessens; brothers, Richard (Jacqueline) Burgess, Jeffrey (Tammy) Burgess, Steve (Tracie) Burgess; many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Jim Swartz and brother-in-law, Michael Smith.
Cremation has taken place and a private memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 18, 2021 at the Kendall Funeral Home in St. Charles, Michigan. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
